Get Rid of Fat - 2 Awesome Tips to Get Rid of Ugly Fat

Março 6th, 2008 by christelchiverton

By Tom Gifford Trying to get rid of fat can be a difficult thing to do. A lot of people try to get rid of fat by doing any of the following: Get rid of fat by doing long bouts of “same speed” cardio. Get rid of fat by doing lots of ab crunches. Get rid of fat by crash dieting. The truth is, none of these are adequate ways of trying to lose weight or get into shape. This article will show you two principles that when followed correctly will help you to get rid of fat once and for all. GET RID OF FAT PRINCIPLE #1: Making the right food choices at the right time. For a lot of people, understanding the right nutrition principles is the real key to getting rid of fat. The reason that you have fat in the first place is because you have either been inactive, had a bad diet, or both! It is important you understand that in order to get rid of fat, your diet is the most important thing. Here are some general dietary guidelines to follow. Keep in mind, these dietary guidelines are not part of some fad diet or “miracle” exercise gimmick. These are just simple tried and true dietary principles that get lose in the media overload of fat loss information. 1. Eat high quality protein. This is a great way to get rid of fat because it will help to feed your muscles the nutrients they need for when you begin to strength train! 2. Eat complex carbohydrates. Eating complex carbohydrates are a great way to get rid of fat because it will help to keep your blood sugar regulated. Some examples of complex carbohydrates are oatmeal, yams, and wheat bread. 3. Eat healthy fats. When most people try to get rid of fat, they go on a crash diet and do not consume any fats at all. Omega 3 fats are actually healthy for your body! Fish is a great source of omega 3 fatty acids. Aside from having a great diet that consists of these foods, you will get rid of fat by eating them in small portions 4-6 times per day. If you eat smaller meals like this, your body will not be hungry all the time and your blood sugar will stay more regulated. Like I said before, these are just simple and to the point dietary principles for helping to get rid of fat. The message and the simplification gets lost with the media and all the fad diets that you constantly hear about! GET RID OF FAT PRINCIPLE #2: Resistance training and cardio. If you really want to get rid of fat, resistance training and cardio 2-3 times per week will help to sky rocket your results….but ONLY if you do it right! To use resistance training as a tool to get rid of fat, you will want to do total body workouts. The more muscle you work, the higher your metabolism will be, and the more fat you will burn! To use cardio as a tool for burning fat, you will want to try doing what is called interval training. This basically consists of getting on a cardio machine and going slow for 2 minutes and then very fast for 1 minute. If you repeat this for 2-1 minute format 3-6 times, you have yourself a great cardio workout that will help to get rid of fat! Remember to check with a doctor before you try interval training to get rid of fat. It is a very effective fat loss tool, but your safely should be your number 1 priority! Get Slim With Atkins Diet Plan

Março 4th, 2008 by christelchiverton

By Michael Douglas All of you who are reading this article right now have definitely been on a diet at some point or the other of your lives. The battle of the bulge is an ongoing problem and we are always on the lookout for various means to win this war. Along with exercise, our diet and nutrition also plays an important role in reducing our weight. Hence, this obsession persists in all of us to undertake some form of dieting. But going on a diet is definitely not an easy thing. What to eat and what to stay away from is always a perennial problem. One of my friends told me that she ate the normal menu which she cooked for the family, but her weight loss recipe is “portion control.” This is a really simple diet plan. In this plan, you cut down on the portion of food you consume. For example, if you usually have two pieces of toast for breakfast, you should eat only one piece. If you normally eat two cups of rice for lunch, cut it down to one cup. In this way, you are automatically reducing your calorie intake by half. Another popular method of dieting is to stop all intake of fatty foods and sugar. In this diet, you cut down on your oil, butter and ghee intake which automatically reduces your fat deposits. While I was leafing through a magazine, I read about one of our Hollywood celebrities following the Atkins’ diet. This immediately aroused my curiosity about the diet. Though I have heard about the diet many times, I had no inside knowledge about it. So, I immediately set to work on it and found out certain basic facts’ about the Atkins diet which I want to share with my readers. The Atkins’ diet made its first appearance in 1972 and was invented by its namesake, Dr Atkins. According to him, this method enables us to lose weight by inducing a change in metabolism. Our body burns both fat and carbohydrates to provide energy. If we reduce the intake of carbohydrates significantly, our body starts burning only fat to provide energy. This method is called “lipolysis”, which in turn induces ketosis. In ketosis, our body burns fat as fuel. Atkins also felt that ketosis will affect insulin production which will result in less fat being formed. And, once your body enters ketosis, your cravings for carbohydrates will reduce significantly which, in turn, will reduce your body weight. The major difference between Atkins’ diet and other types of diet is that, while most diets restrict calorie, intake, the Atkins’ plan encourages us to eat more. While most of the diets recommend low fat, high carbohydrate intake, Atkins’ does just the opposite. Instead of carbohydrate and sugar, this diet wants us to consume plenty of fat and protein. The core principle of the Atkins’ diet is that, by limiting carbohydrates, our body is forced to burn its stored fat, rather than carbs for fuel. The Atkins’ diet has a four carbohydrates stage plan induction, ongoing weight loss, pre-maintenance and lifetime maintenance. With the help of these four stages, you can reduce as well as maintain your weight throughout your life. Induction - phase 1: This phase lasts for two weeks, by the end of which you can obtain significant results. Another point is that, in this diet plan you can begin at any of the phase. But it is recommended to start with induction. As you cut back on your carbohydrates significantly in this phase, you will jump start your weight loss programme. In this phase, only 20 gm of carbohydrates are allowed and hence your weight loss is significant. As you drastically cut down on carbohydrates your body shifts into high gear and starts burning fat. This takes about 48 hours to occur and you may feel hungry and irritated for the first three-four days. But don’t worry, as soon as your fat starts getting converted to fuel, you will feel fit as a fiddle. Induction will strengthen your immune system and also improve our long-term health. Ongoing Weight Loss (OWL) phase 2: In this phase, the weight loss pace slows down as you add nutrient-rich carbohydrates to your diet. During this period, you will boost your body’s ability to burn fats as well as understand your body better. You will find the right amount of carbohydrates which you can consume and still lose weight. Your body will also prepare itself for permanent weight management. The amount of carbohydrates which you can eat is increased to 25 gm per day for the first week and increased in five gm instalment for the next few weeks. If your weight loss is significant, you can increase your carbohydrate intake. A person has to be on OWL till he or she is within three-five kg of their goal weight. Pre-maintenance - (phase 3): Pre-maintenance is a practice run for lifetime maintenance. In this phase, you are fast approaching your target. As long as you continue to lose weight, you can increase your weekly allotment of carbohydrates by another 10 gm. You will be in this phase till you reach your goal and stay on it for one month. The ultimate goal here is to achieve a state of balance called Atkins’ Carbohydrate Equilibrium (ACE). The ACE is your individual level of carbohydrate intake wherein you neither gain nor lose weight. Lifetime maintenance phase 4: In this phase, you have to focus on your individual ACE and strive to stay within two kg of your ideal weight for the rest of your life. By following a sensible eating plan, you gain energy, better health and confidence in yourself. By following these four phases, you not only achieve your dream weight but are also able to maintain it throughout your life. You can learn more about this diet by reading the book, Dr Atkins’ New Diet Revolution. But, as with any other diet, this plan also has its pros and cons. The good point is that this diet recommends exercise as a vital part of the weight loss programme. Another point to be noted is that you cannot start on carbohydrates after you lose weight as this will result in your gaining back all that you have lost. Medical experts advise that people who have gout, kidney problems, diabetes or are pregnant women should not follow this diet plan. As this diet is very stringent, do consult your doctor/dietician for proper advice. Your dietician will provide you with a proper menu chart as to what should be eaten, in what quantities, etc, based on your eating habits and general lifestyle. Happy dieting and hoping to see slimmer and fitter readers. What Little I Know About Submarines

Março 2nd, 2008 by christelchiverton

By John T Jones, Ph.D. Submarines fascinated us during World War II. Germany U-boats decimated convoys carrying vital war supplies to England. Our U-boats preyed on Japanese shipping, even daring to infiltrate Japanese homeland ports. World War II submarines were crewed by heroic men. Thousands on both sides died in the depths of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. After the war, nuclear subs cruised under Polar ice carrying lethal loads of guided missiles with atomic warheads. They were the terror of the Cold War. Unfortunately, they are still cruising. There were loses. A Soviet submarine had a reactor malfunction with casualties. The U.S.S. Thresher went down during deep-diving trials in 5500 feet of water 220 miles east of Boston in 1963perhaps because a pipe weld failed and flooded the engine room shutting down the reactor. An associate of mine lost a son in that disaster. During World War II there were submarine incidences on both the Atlantic and Pacific cost of the United States. One was humorous to my Aunt Isabel who lived in Los Angeles. The United States military anti-aircraft crews reacting to the threat of attack blew up a mans garage. I remember the incident. It was called The Battle of Los Angeles. Well, some Japanese submarines could accommodate an aircraft. Before the Battle of Los Angeles a Japanese submarine fired on an oil refinery on the California coast. (Thats why the gunners had itchy fingers.) German agents were dropped by submarine on the east coast of the United States. German submarines were common on the East Coast during the war and sunk many merchant ships. Those were scary times for this Utah kid. (I listened to my older brother talk to his friends about Hitler and the invasion of Poland. I thought the Germans would be dropping in at any time. At the church, a scary skit showing the Gestapo invading homes, terrorizing families with bayonets, and burning books, didnt help. I loved books.) Scary Japanese submarines just off the California coast made me consider the possibility of a Japanese invasion. Were we protected in Utah by the Sierra Nevada? When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor my cousin, Billy, and I watched the sky for Japanese aircraft. Japanese balloons landed in the Northwest. We all thought an old Japanese man picking up coal along the railroad tracks was counting the tanks and trucks rolling by and radioing the results to Tokyo. Eventually the old fellow stopped walking along the tracks. I dont know what happened to him, but I was worried that my friend, Ted Fujiwould Ted be shipped off to an Arizona Japanese-American internment camp? Ted was the one kid with whom I could talk about crystal-radio building. Now that we have at least six paragraphs under our belt, I can give some references. I hate this new rule and Ive asked www.ezinearticles.com to explain why they had to do it. In the past, authors could ad links after the first paragraph. No answer yet! For the Battle of Los Angeles, I suggest you go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Coast_air_raid Read about the Battle of the Atlantic at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Atlantic_(1939-1945) Read about submarine warfare in the Pacific at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_War#The_submarine_war_in_the_Pacific The Merchant Marine had the highest rate of battle deaths during World War II. During the same time that the Battle of the Atlantic occurred we had the Battle of Britain. We lost more airmen in that battle than the combined World War II losses of Marines and Navy personal. We did not control the air and the seas until late in the war. Early in the war, only a small fraction of ships sunk by the Germans was replenished by new ship construction. In 1942, we replenished fewer than half of the ships sunk. However, by 1943 we were building new ships about three to each one lost. See http://www.usmm.org/ww2.html If we had not won the Battle of the Atlantic, we would probably have lost the war. To learn the fate of Unites States submarines go to http://www.history.navy.mil/faqs/faq39-1.htm You can see a list of the crew of the U.S.S. Hello! Create A Customer-Friendly Voice Mail Greeting

Fevereiro 26th, 2008 by christelchiverton

By Jacquelyn Lynn Who answers your business phone when youre not in the office? Most home-based business owners use an answering machine or voice messaging system. But its not enough to just make sure the phone gets picked up when youre not there; the greeting your callers hear says more about you than just leave a message. That announcement may be the first contact someone has with you, and if you dont sound professional, the caller may not leave a message or may not call back. Its not necessary to sound like youre a major corporation, but it is important to sound like youre a serious, legitimate operation. Use these tips to create an effective voice mail greeting: - Write a script. Dont try to record off the top of your head. Write a script that covers all the points you want to make in a concise format. Practice it so you can record without any awkward pauses or stumbles. - Be friendly, but avoid being cute. Speak in a warm, friendly voice that lets your personality show through, but dont try to be cute or funnyits not professional, and it could easily backfire. - Avoid the obvious. Its not necessary to say things like Im away from my desk or Im out of the officecallers know that because you didnt answer the phone. Ditto with statements like Your call is important to mecallers know theyre hearing a recording that youve made for everyone, so dont waste their time with generic fluff. - Change your message frequently. People with flexible schedules may even change their announcement daily so the information is always current and accurate. - Let callers know when youll be available. If you wont be able to return calls for several hours, or until the next day, say so in your announcement so people arent left wondering when theyll hear from you. - Tell callers how to skip the message. If your system has the feature that allows callers to bypass the greeting by pressing * or #, include that in your announcement. - Include your fax number and website or e-mail address. Some callers may just want to send you a fax or an e-mail; if your greeting tells them how to do it, you wont need to call them back. - Provide alternate contact information. If you carry a pager or a cell phone and dont mind taking calls while youre out of the office, include that number in your greeting. An alternative is a system that automatically pages you when someone leaves a message, so you can quickly decide how soon to return the call. - Include seasonal messages. Between Thanksgiving and the end of the year, start your greeting with Happy holidays. For greetings that indicate youre closed for long weekends such as Memorial Day or Labor Day, end with a wish for a safe and happy holiday. Heres a sample script:This is Joe Smith. To bypass this announcement and leave a message, press # and begin speaking at the tone. Please leave your name, telephone number, the best time to reach you, and a brief message, and I will return your call within three hours. If you need to send a fax, that number is 888-123-4567. Or please visit my website at www-dot-websitename-dot-com for more information or to send me an e-mail. Have a great day! Confessions From a Peanut Butter Fanatic

Fevereiro 26th, 2008 by christelchiverton

By Elizabeth Smith I cant exactly explain what it is about peanut butter that I love so much the taste, the texture, the little reminders of childhood when I bite into a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. But, I do realize that I am one of very few. Most adults cant stand peanut butter and even more adults are allergic to peanuts thus leaving a small percentage of adults that do like peanut butter, and an even smaller percentage that are complete fanatics. I go beyond just being a fan Im completely addicted.

If we run out of peanut butter in my household, which actually happened recently, I am not a fun mother to be around. I go into complete peanut butter withdrawal. I crave peanut butter like smokers crave nicotine. Its quite possibly the best, most versatile food. I can eat it in sandwiches, on crackers, celery with a spoon, you name it.

What is even better is that peanut butter is available in so many varieties. You can get chunky or creamy, whole fat or low fat, standard or all-natural so many choices! Unfortunately, there was a recent peanut butter scare that involved some tainted jars of peanut butter and I worry that its giving the old peanut butter a bad name.

So, being the kind woman that I am, Im doing a sort of community service here. Peanut butter is still King! It is one of the best yummy, yet healthy, treats for adults and children. In fact, according to the Journal of American College of Nutrition, eating 2 tablespoons of peanut butter directly from the jar (which is something I happen to do quite often) may be a healthy habit! Peanut butter has many essential vitamins and nutrients, such as vitamins A and E, folic acid, calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron and fiber.

In addition, scientific evidence suggests that eating peanuts (even in peanut butter) may reduce the risk of heart disease when limited to 1.5 ounces per day and combined with a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol. In 2002, a Harvard Study showed that women who ate peanut butter and nuts had a reduced risk of type 2 diabetes.

Unfortunately, especially for me, peanut butter is high in fat content and can therefore lead to weight gain if eaten in excess. So I am forced to limit myself on peanut butter overindulgence. But, it doesnt mean that I enjoy my favorite all-time snack any less. In fact, the benefits of eating peanut butter, the healthy ones and the tasty ones, far outweigh the fat issue and the fact that I have to limit myself. How To Use The Titles of Your Free Reports & Products To Boost Response

Fevereiro 24th, 2008 by christelchiverton

By Michael D. Black I cant tell you how many times I have seen an ad offering Free information, a free CD / DVD, or some other similar promotion. There are dozens of products out there that are simply named The Web Design DVD, or The Success Library, or Joes Carpet Cleaning Service. And nine times out of ten that is all they will say about their particular free widget, product, or service. These people are squandering a great opportunity to boost their profits and they dont even know it. You see the titles of your products, services, and free widgets are very important because they can be a selling tool all to themselves. In the case of free widgets, we know that bonuses drive response and that simply adding a well-thought out bonus can turn a losing campaign into a winner. As far as products go, you can increase the perceived value of your product by adding a clever name. For services, you can separate yourself from the pack by inventing proprietary language for you service. For example, instead of offering your prospects free information, offer them a Special Report On The 6 Secrets To Succeeding In Business or The 9 Causes of Home Mildew & How To Fix It. You simply have to adopt this type of thinking to your particular situation. By changing the titles of your free widgets to more descriptive ones it will make them more compelling and prospects will be more interested in them.
When naming products you should try to re-bundle your products so they appear as complete systems, kits, bootcamps, etc. As I mentioned, this will increase the perceived value of the product. People find books, VHS, radio, etc. to be normal and average, but if you start selling your product as a bootcamp or system your products will be more exotic and attractive. For your services, especially if you are in a high competition market, you can boost your profits by changing the name of what you do so that there is no competition. A perfect example of this can be found at my local break shop. Most brake shops will examine your brakes and install the proper parts, but my local shop offers the Multi-Wheel Friction Realign. Same product, same service, but a different name. And this makes a big difference because in my town there is only one place to get a Multi-Wheel Friction Realign, but there are dozens of places where you can get a brake job. The best way to make sure that your titles are compelling is to pattern them after headlines. They should tend to have a lot of words because people are drawn to things that are out of the ordinary. A good test to see if you have a good title would be to imagine it as a classified ad with no background details. If you think that your prospects would respond to your title in a classified with nothing but call this number after it than you have probably got a winner.
